About Brain Matters Research

“At Brain Matters Research, being a center of excellence carries a great responsibility. We are committed to compassionate care and support for the patient, family and caregivers, alike. We believe that state-of-the-art care includes informing patients and families about increased risk factors for the disease, the latest information on prevention, and about the different types of clinical trial opportunities currently available. At any given time, we typically have 18-20 ongoing trials. These trials range from prevention trials that seek to understand who gets this disease and why, to trials seeking to help current sufferers of Alzheimer’s or other dementias.

Our mission here at Brain Matters Research is to elevate Alzheimer’s Disease to the level of urgency that it deserves. It is a degenerative “cancer of the brain” that no one survives. Brain Matters Research is on a mission, and we need community involvement from those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, those at risk for the disease, those showing early symptoms of the disease, and those who are willing to participate in the research process. Doing nothing is no longer an option.”

Our Facility

Brain Matters Research is a privately owned and operated clinical trial site conveniently located in Delray Beach and Stuart Florida. We specialize in research and support for memory loss, with an emphasis on prevention and treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease, for which we are recognized as one of the leading top-tier sites in North America.

Dr. Brody is considered a thought leader in the field, is often consulted regarding study design and feasibility, and serves on Advisory Boards for several pharmaceutical companies. BMR has an extensive patient database, as well as a history of collaboration with community physicians to bring research opportunities to their patients. Our professional, full-time, ACRP certified study staff are re-certified annually on GCP and ICH guidelines, and work hand-in-hand with our investigators to ensure rapid data entry and expedited query responses. Our center utilizes central IRBs, and can turn around regulatory documents and contracts/budgets within 24 hours, ensuring an expeditious study start-up. Full staff certified annually in GCP, ICH, OSHA, HIPAA, and PHI. Clinical research coordinators are ACRP certified. Principal investigator is CPI (Certified Physician Investigator) by ACRP.

Regulatory

BMR utilizes central IRB to facilitate rapid study start up. Our regulatory staff expedites submission of all required documentation within 2 business days. Budget and clinical trial agreements are reviewed and executed in house and turn around within two business days. Our expeditious processing usually allows for us to be screening and enrolling patients before most sites have even received their IRB approvals!

Recruiting

BMR works collaboratively with community neurologists and primary care physicians to offer research opportunities to their patient population. We work hand-in-hand to ensure the highest level of medical oversight during participation in a clinical trial. BMR works with a network of patient day care facilities, caregiver support groups, and disease specific associations to offer educational seminars, health fairs, and “Ask the Dr.” venues to provide much needed access to up to date information on new treatment and research options.
